Ep. 90 Tap Dance Notes

Weekly Explorations in Tap Dance Land

For the last note of the season, I leave you with a groove. I gave myself a challenge with this one as the accent pattern doesn’t translate into natural mechanics for me. The pace of the step is a little slower than I’d like, too. But that’s exactly how things start. Practicing new things can be uncomfortable, not just because I’m learning something new, but because I already have so much that I know. I have to convince myself that the slowness, the repetition, and the mistakes, are all worth the learning. Why? Because I want to become the kind of person for whom this new step is naturally executed.

The Notes are taking a break for the month of July and will resume in August. Until then, explore the entire archive for more inspiration, and happy practicing!

Breakdown available here (exclusively for paying subscribers).
