Ep. 85 Tap Dance Notes

Weekly Explorations in Tap Dance Land

THREE!!! Odd meters like 3/4, 6/8, or 7/8, are one way to mix things up if you ever get stuck in doing the same thing over and over again. it is the equivalent of traveling (or rearranging furniture) as a cure for boredom in your current environment. I have a few go-to songs that come to mind when I move towards odd meters, but this step wasn’t based on a tune. It just arose out of the desire to sit in three for a while. Sometimes a shift in organization of time is enough. Of course, tunes are fun, but it’s also fun to find a step and let the step lead you to the tune.

What tune does this step lead you to?

Breakdown available here (exclusively for paying subscribers).
