This is what it looks like to find something, sit in it, and explore where it can take you. While discovering grooves and learning how to settle into them is a thing, so is learning how to use them as jump off points for other ideas. The trick (and discipline) here is to learn the relationships between the new ideas and the groove you started out with. In this way the groove become both a jump off point AND a landing pad. It is the point of reference both musically and physically that the particular time of play is based on. This one has a three and break structure which is a great way to start exploring, but you don't have to hold to that. You can sit in the groove longer, and your explorations can be much longer, too. Plus, you can do this with tons of steps!
