While some grooves have a ride that is pretty straight foward, this one has some fun twists and turns! The dynamics and accents are still super important but what makes this groove particularly fun are the shapes it creates while making the music. There's the initial kick, the slight criss-cross of the legs, the preparation for the turn, and THEN the turn. The movement tells a whole story literally on top of the music. There is plenty more to work out here, too. How criss-crossed could I get the legs? How smooth could the turn become? Pushing the movement without sacrificing any musical integrity is a key pursuit in Tap Dance Land!
