Ep. 68 Tap Dance Notes

Weekly Explorations in Tap Dance Land

This groove is a little easier – a little more laid back than some of the other ones I've shared. It's got a few little tricks up its sleeve though, too. Check out the way it moves from something very grounded to something with a little lift. Check out how the dynamics include tones from the top and bottom of the tonal range. Check out those JAZZ HANDS!!! Just kidding, those aren't part of the step :-) This step helps me work on the short rhythm, settling in to a ride, and listening back to what the step sounds like for feedback. My own physicality shifts as I search for the most efficient movement, the smoothest journey through the step, and sounds that ring.
