Ep. 59 Tap Dance Notes

Explorations in Tap Dance Land

This groove is centered around the idea of truncated Paddle and Roll (that is a Paddle going to a Stomp). The lower pitch of the stomp acts as a kind of anchor to everything else going on – and there is a lot going on. While some steps have a lot of evident movement, this one is more understated. I'm trying to find the movement in my body that allows the groove to flow freely – it's a sweetspot of engagement and openness. What happens if the body gets too tense? You miss a sound 😕 Something to work on!
