Ep. 54 Tap Dance Notes

Explorations in Tap Dance Land

This week's note is grooving! Steps like this could go on forwever, and challenge me to focus on the tonal accuracy of what's going on. Since the rhythm is simple – a continuous roll – the tonal variety of the notes is what makes it a thing. There are some natural dynamics happening with the STOMPS and STEPS that lend to the arch of the pattern, too. It you check this step out closely, you'll notice that the whole pattern is actually a shorter pattern repeated. It's fun when patterns start to build into something greater than the sum of its parts
