Ep. 51 Tap Dance Notes

Explorations in Tap Dance Land

This little step is trickier than it looks. The crunchiness of the cramp roll is a specific rhythm – not just a compressed cramp roll. Then the pattern inverts (thanks to the thinking of Steve Condos!). So a paddle and roll become a kind of riff, and the cramp rolls of different each time. None of this is easy, yet, as you can tell from my facial expression! At least I got to play both sides before I switched!

Breakdown available here (exclusively for paying subscribers).

What do you think of this week’s step? Is there something you’d like me to me try in a Tap Dance Note? I’m game. Let me know by leaving a comment.
