Ep. 44 Tap Dance Notes

Weekly explorations in Tap Dance Land

The opposite of roll for me is a step like this. Space and motion work together to craft a rhythm that cuts through time very differently than a roll. The rhythm here is sharp, even abrupt, while the movement is smoother, accented by the slides (or slips) at the end. References to Gregory Hines and Jimmy Slyde are pretty explicit...man, do I miss those cats.
