Ep. 41 Tap Dance Notes

Weekly explorations in Tap Dance Land

Sometimes I walk into the studio with an idea and it just works itself out. I had this idea of playing with chords in the midst of a step. Where the chords aren’t the featured novelty, but would be missing if I didn’t play them. Like the 2nd or 3rd harmonic line of a beautiful melody…they are “needed” but are missed when not played. Here we have a relatively chill groove that is ornamented by three different chords. They had a unique kind of depth to the step that I really dig.
