Flying and rolling and grooves all wrapped up into a thing that looks easy - well that’s the goal anyway. How easy can we make the hard thing look? How much energy does it take to be smooth? Some of my dearest teachers embodied the answers to these questions - Gregory Hines, Buster Brown, and Jimmy Slyde immediately come to mind. But frankly, the entire pursuit of tap dance invites a journey toward ease, joy, and love (and that reminds me of Henry LeTang, too). So here we are flying, in a 16th note roll, with some accents that layout a nice groove - all while thinking about the deeper things.
