Ep. 19 Tap Dance Notes

Your weekly dose of joy!

If I find myself in a habit of sorts (doing the same thing, over and over again), I try something different in the beginning. In this case it was to start my step with a PICKUP! I ended up with something (the PICKUP+RIFF combination) that reminded me of a step I learned from Savion Glover way back in 2001! Physical memory is strong. Well, the rest of this step is quite different than the memory. There are little things like the DRAWBACK vs PADDLE AND ROLL transition and the seven sound RIFF at the end of the step that make it really interesting as a ride. I think there is a lot of potential here for discovery in the world of accents, but that will have to wait for another day. Something to look forward to!
