The Groove is Universal
The groove is the thing that makes the space in the music. It creates the vibe in the room. It makes the bodies move in a particular way. It’s the thing that happens before the song or the dance really begins.
Before we try to make a statement, we should find the groove. Once we find the groove it’s good practice to just sit in it for a while. Then whatever statements we make will be relevant, related and relatable. Find the groove and we are on our way.
Grooves aren’t hard to find. They are everywhere - in every culture. It doesn’t matter the geography. But they do take time to embody. They take time spent listening for them, experiencing them, and enjoying them. Put in the time, and you'll find a universal language that's connected to the very rhythm of life.
