The Day After the Day
There is always a day after the day. Sometimes an event takes up so much of our field of view that we forget about what happened next. What we did after is a blur. Foggy from the cloud of attention that we paid to the event itself.
In this day after the first day of the year, let us remember that an accumulation of little things is as important as the few big things that make up our memories. Every day is full of little things that can give the day its purpose, whether we find ourselves in individual rest, work, play, or sharing time with others.
So the next time a major event clouds our day, here’s to remembering the day after the day.
