In the late spring Andrew Nemr and Friends, my new band, presented a night of works-in-progress. We shared new songs and old favorites with a packed house, as we prepared for our set at Dance Boise. Working tunes out in public is a scary affair. It’s like sending your baby out to be judged by strangers without really knowing what will happen. Do the strangers break the child’s heart? Or do they find ways to continue the develop the child in this new stage of growth? Les Paul (yes, that Les Paul) told me once that if he were to put a new band together he’d find some restaurant off the beaten path to work out the band before ever trying for something in New York City. There’s one particular tune – a new one – that I’ve been itching to share with you. Since it’s been performed in public a couple times now, I figured I could share it’s development with you, too.
