Burn Out
It’s real. After major events, or during ongoing high stress situations, burn out happens. The energy we normally receive seems to simply leave us, or never seems to arrive in the first place.
We are vulnerable in these times to forget the value of the work we were doing. We may ask ourselves is it worth the pain of the burn? The agony of burning out? We may try to blame others for the burn out happening. If only so-and-so had done this or that, I wouldn’t be feeling this way.
Be careful.
Burn out is only a signal - either of coming down from a heightened experience, or of the need for a different ratio of rest and activity.
Burn out is not a value judgement on the work itself or the value of others.
