Birthdays, Funerals, Life
Birthdays are celebrated as a remembrance of the beginning of life. Funerals are often at time of lament at the end of life. But birthdays are a celebration for those who've witnessed the birth, and each passing year. And funerals are a time of grieving for those who remain.
What of life? The in between time. The time of waking and sleeping. Of laughing and arguing. What of the adventures and the dullness? What of the basic needs met by strangers, and the struggles to achieve greatness? What of the friends we met and parted ways with? What of the trust we engendered and broke? Do we take each of those moments for granted? Do wish away the pain, and yearn only for peace? Do we wait for a Birthday or a Funeral to remember, celebrate, or lament.
What if we had a way to engage with every moment of life? Not just the big ones, but in every little moment, conversation, achievement, and failure. A celebration is a series of activities that show a particular occasion is important. Well, what if we celebrated all of life?
