The language of worlds was foreign to me. I first started shifting my thinking when confronted with the proposition that how I envision the world around me profoundly affects the organization of my life. Not only does the world I envision affect what I think is possible, it affects what I contend for, what I value, what I offer, and how I proceed to work all of that out.
Sometimes in the process of formation we may have to stop and take an inventory of sorts. This week’s question prods us in that direction.
What world are you living in?
When I hear this question, I initially think of it being asked with an attitude, often used to squash the hopes of a dreamer. However, honest inventories bring with them immense power. With honest answers to this question, we can directly address the problems we are facing from where we are. After all, we can’t start anything fruitful from somewhere we are not. Knowing where we are helps us meet ourselves where we are. So, let’s dig a little further.
