This week you may have noticed a new addition to The Notes. Here’s the story behind it.
Every Talking Note recording is written, then edited, then recorded. The recordings themselves are then edited (taking out bloopers, coughs, and other things) and posted here (and elsewhere). The whole process is quite immersive. I do all the editing myself, so I hear the recording A LOT before it ever makes it to posting.
This last week a ton of other ideas – related to note but not included in it – came up just after the recording process. I would normally have held on to these idea and used them to write another note later. This time I decided to turn the camera back on and record the ideas – off the cuff.
Afterthoughts, like this one, are available only to supporting subscribers. They are a more intimate look into the way the thinking around the Talking Notes happen. You’ll see me think through ideas in real time, see the jumps I make between ideas, and all the connections that arise.
These are live sketches of my own responses to the note I’ve just written.
Let me know what you think, comment on the video, or drop me a line here. I would love to here your feedback!
